The right way of heating
Everybody has to heat his home. Without a functioning heating system one can provide comfort neither in his day rooms nor in the bedroom, nor in other rooms of the house. There are many ways of heating, as well as different habits of the users concerning temperature and time. Not the wish for cosiness, but reasonable considerations should decide. This saves energy and reduces running costs. Here are some hot tips for how to use our JAWO products in an effective and energy-saving way.
Heat your rooms individually
With our thermostats you may heat each of your rooms independently. Our programmable LCD control makes it possible to define a customized heating profile.
Heat according to your personal needs
A benefit from our sophisticated thermostats is that every single room may be heated and controlled according to your personal needs. The thermostats are adapted to our appliances and offer the necessary heating comfort.
Never let you rooms cool down
Make sure to always have a constant base temperature in your rooms. Rooms that have cooled down need much more energy to reach the desired temperature again, compared with rooms where the temperature has only been lowered.
Ventilate your rooms regularly
Ventilate your rooms quickly and thoroughly. A permanently tilted window causes avoidable energy costs and does not bring the desired effect of thorough ventilation.
Use shutters and curtains
Do you have shutters and curtains on your windows? They are not mere decoration objects, but also have their special function. Close them in the early evening. It helps to reduce your energy expenses.
Do not block your heaters
Do not place pieces of furniture, curtains or clothing in front of heaters. Of course, sometimes there is no other choice. Please try then at least to keep enough distance between furniture and the heater. When the heater is surrounded by objects, the radiating heat and convection is reduced.
Do not cover your heaters
Towels or pieces of clothing on the heater have the effect of a damper, too. Better to use our aluminium towel holders.
Avoid installation compartments
Installation compartments, e.g. of old night storage heaters, have a dampening effect. Warm air gathers in these compartments and can not spread properly in the room.
Use the night setback
With our programmable control panel the JAWO heating works fully automatically according to your needs. The night setback has an important function. It helps to reduce your heating expenses.
Last but not least, here is the most IMPORTANT rule to follow:
Do not overheat your rooms. An optimized room temperature for living and working rooms is 20 degrees centigrade, while 17 degrees centigrade for bedrooms is definitely enough. For side rooms 15 degrees centigrade is absolutely sufficient, as well as for corridors and stairways. Exceptions are bathrooms, shower and changing rooms.
Every temperature increase of 1 degree centigrade causes a rise in energy consumption of up to 10 percent. Unnecessarily high temperatures cost money and increase the risk of getting a cold.
